With a hair transplant, a distinction is generally made between the FUE and the FUT method. Which treatment method is more suitable for someone will be analyzed during a consultation appointment.
In the following, we would like to show you how the methods differ and which advantages and disadvantages each technique has.
The FUE Method
The FUE method (Follicular Unit Extraction) is the most advanced and at the same time most careful technique of hair transplantation.
It is particularly suitable for women and men with hormonally induced, but also hereditary hair loss. In this minimally invasive procedure, hair follicles are individually removed from the back of the head and replanted in the bald areas.
This method of treatment is extremely gentle and leads to very good results.
Your bald or thinning areas will be thickened with new, healthy hair. After the hair transplant, it is recommended to treat your hair roots to an autohemotherapy session to supply the hair roots with essential nutrients. This will promote cell renewal and regeneration.
The FUT Method
The FUT method (Follicular Unit Transplantation) is also a very gentle procedure to obtain donor hair for bald spots on the head.
The big difference in contrast to the FUE method is that the hair from the donor area is not taken individually, but a single strip of hair is taken from the back of the head. For this reason, the FUT method is often referred to as the strip technique.
However, this is somewhat outdated and it is mainly treated according to the FUE method, because there is a much lower risk of scarring after the operation.
The advantage of the FUT method is that the duration of treatment is shorter and the doctor can perform more than one operation per day.
